Last night I called George Allen to congratulate him on winning the Primary. I told him I would help him to defeat Tim Kaine, and he thanked me for running a principled campaign.
On behalf of my wife, Cathy, and I, and our Campaign Manager, Bob Allen and wife Roseleen, our Area Coordinators, and other dedicated volunteers, we thank you all sincerely for all you have done for the campaign, as well as all you continue to do in your own community to promote accountable government.
Last night I received a message loud and clear that I am to continue working in Richmond, not Washington! I will continue my service in that capacity.
The reason I ran for the U.S. Senate was because people encouraged me to run and I was willing to serve. Obviously we needed much more time and money. While we all would have preferred a different outcome, I am encouraged that our campaign raised important issues, and identified additional workers for the important legislative battles that lie ahead!
To find the silver lining, in the end, it cost our campaign only $3.76 per vote – a very efficient cost ratio, far below the other campaigns’ reported figures to date! And 17,284 voters embraced our message, despite our campaign operating less than 5 months.
I continue to have hope for Virginia and our country! Please encourage everyone you know to pray daily for leaders who will remain true to the Constitution and Declaration of Independence which recognizes our Creator-given inalienable rights.
Again, I am so very grateful for every one of you who were so very generous with your financial assistance, your time and hard work making phone calls, sending letters and emails, putting up signs, and most of all, your prayers.
I hope to work with you and other Virginians on important legislation in the 2013 General Assembly. I recently shared my concern with Gov. McDonnell regarding his announced support for the use of surveillance drones in the skies of Virginia and the threat they pose to our constitutional liberties.
To that end if I do not have your email and you would like to receive legislative updates, please go to my delegate website http://delegatebob.com/ and signup for alerts in the top banner or on the right hand sidebar.
In the next session of the Virginia General Assembly with your support I will continue to push pack against an ever encroaching federal government as we did with the “Health Care Freedom Act!” and the bill to prevent detention of American citizens without due process!
I look forward to working with you in the November, 2012 election where we must do all within our power to prevent the reelection of Barack Obama and the election of Tim Kaine.
It is not too early to begin calling and visiting your neighbors to engage them in this fight, if we are serious about defeating two of the most fiscally and socially liberal leaders Virginia has ever elected! As always, feel free to share your ideas and concerns with me.
